FAQs
What is this all about?
The IVPL Summer Reading blog is a place where members of IVPL’s Adult Summer Reading Club can talk about the books they are reading. Members post book reviews and can comment on other reviews on the site. Each book review entitles a member to be entered in a raffle for prizes.
How do I join the discussion?
Send an email to refdesk@ivpl.org with “Summer Reading Blog” in the Subject line. We will send you instructions on how to join the blog and add your own reviews. Be sure to include your email address!
If you would like to email reviews to us to post on the blog, you can do that too. Send your review to refdesk@ivpl.org with “Book Review Please Post” in the Subject line.
You can also stop in the library and fill out a book review entry slip. Look book review slips with the tree display outside the Pennsylvania Room. If you would like us to include your written review on the blog, be sure to note that on the review slip.
No matter how you join the book review blog, be sure to let us know how you would like your name to appear with each review you post. You can sign your post as “Anonymous” if you do not want your name to appear on your post.
What should I include in my review?
Include the title, author, and year of publication. Also include a descriptive category (e.g., mystery, romance, biography, science fiction, Westerns, non-fiction, horror, fantasy, poetry, etc.). The review should be between 50-250 words. Reviews should include a brief summary of the plot and your opinion of the book. Let us know why you did or did not like it.
